Spiral sand and water separators are used to separate sand and other heavier granular solids from sand-containing wastewater. They can be used as auxiliary equipment for various sand settling tanks. Sand-containing wastewater enters tangentially from the upper end of the conical container, forming a vortex in the container. Under the action of gravity and centrifugal force, the sand quickly settles to the bottom of the container and is pushed to the sand outlet at the upper end by the rotating spiral blades. The vortex generated by the special water inlet method greatly accelerates the sedimentation rate of the sand. Compared with ordinary sand-water separators, the sand-water separation effect is better, and the sedimentation rate of the sand is faster.

Structure of the spiral sand and water separator: The spiral sand and water separator consists of a shaftless screw, bushing, U-shaped trough, water tank, guide plate, and driving device. When the sand-water mixture enters the water tank from the top of one end of the separator, the larger sand particles in the mixture will settle at the bottom of the U-shaped trough. Under the push of the spiral, the sand particles will be lifted along the bottom of the inclined U-shaped trough, and will continue to move a certain distance after leaving the liquid surface. After the sand particles are fully dehydrated, the sand hopper will be installed at the sand discharge port, while the water separated from the sand will be discharged from the overflow port and sent to the plant water inlet.
Characteristics of the spiral sand and water separator: 1. The sedimentation device and sand conveying device of the spiral sand and water separator are a closed integrated structure, which is light in weight, compact in structure, has a small maintenance workload, and high operational reliability. 2. The sand and water separator can separate particles with a particle size of 0.2 mm, with a separation efficiency of 96%~98%, a recovery rate of no less than 98%, and a gravel cleaning rate of no less than 80% for particles with a diameter greater than 0.1 mm. 3. Under normal circumstances, the sand and water separator matches the performance of the pump-type sand remover and the sand pump in the sand storage chamber, and can also operate continuously if necessary. 4. The important parts of the sand and water separator, such as the shell, bracket, and sand conveyor, are all made of stainless steel. The conveying screw in the U-shaped trough is a shaftless screw, and its structural design ensures that the material circulation will not be blocked. The shaftless spiral has sufficient strength and rigidity to ensure that it will not deform or elongate under working load. 5. The shaftless spiral support bearing is waterproof, dustproof, wear-resistant, and self-lubricating. 6. The separation tank of the sand and water separator is welded from stainless steel, and the bottom is semi-circular to support the screw conveyor. The water inlet overflow pipe is installed at the top of the container, and the drain pipe is installed at the bottom for easy maintenance. 7. There are no high-speed rotating parts in the equipment, so the screw wear is low and almost no maintenance is required.
Installation and operation of the spiral sand and water separator: 1. The sand and water separator is placed steadily on the work platform, and its feet need to be fixed to the ground with expansion bolts so that it can operate without obvious vibration. At the same time, the hopper should match other equipment. 2. When using the sand and water separator, mechanical oil needs to be injected into the reducer to 1/2 of the oil level first. 3. Turn on the power, gently push the button, and observe whether the rotation direction of the screw is correct. The rotation direction of the screw always turns towards the material outlet. 4. After starting, the staff should pay attention to whether there are hard debris on the material. Once an abnormality in the conveyor is found, immediately stop the machine, troubleshoot the fault, and then resume operation. The protective cover must not be removed when the sand and water separator is in operation.
